Create a digital story was the goal for this assignment, seemed simple enough, but wow, that was a lot tougher that I thought. I started out in iMovie, and spent a good 6 hours going over photos adding in some video, extracting audio, changing length times and still had not recorded my audio. Hmmm… I thought, is this the best idea or should I look to something else. In comes Adobe Spark.
Let me start by saying that I have been using Adobe products since 1995, yup, way back before Photoshop even had layers (talk about tough). I like Adobe, but have been more than a little ticked off at them over the past couple of years based on their ever changing pricing structure for education, buts that’s another story. I have however, been wanting to try Spark and thought that this could be the best fit for what I wanted to do.
I ended up using the browser version and accessing all of my photos from Google drive. I had a couple of issues with the audio and had to refresh the browser a few times, but all in all, I have to say I am now a convert. The product is really simple and easy to use, and I am happy with the outcome.
